The next Spiritualized single after the 'Electric Mainline' E.P. was 'Let it Flow'. It was released as three compact discs; the first came with a slip case to house the other two.

If I remember rightly, they were sold for £1.99 each, so for your £5.97 you got a live mini album plus a couple of new tracks.

All top notch stuff, the 90's were a bargain.

This record marks the start of the second phase of the music of Jason Pierce / Spiritualized and one of my favourite E.P.'s of all time.

Spiritualized / Mercury Rev - Good Dope Good Fun / Boys Peel Out

Greenpeace Records. 1993.

The first post 'Laser Guided Melodies' material from Spiritualized was a pure hit.

The first Greenpeace charity 7" was this split between Mercury Rev and Spiritualized.

'Good Dope, Good Fun' was pure, hedonistic rush and another theme which would see several different versions.

'Boys Peel out' came from a Peel session Mercury Rev had that year.

"This programme was produced to coincide with the 1993 Electric Mainline Tour. All profits from its sale will go to help Greenpeace campaigns."

Now, onto our exploration of releases by the founding members of Spacemen 3 and three singles by Spiritualized that make up an album length suite of their own.

What really interested me about early Spiritualized releases was the different versions of songs across different formats. The themes and melodies of a single song would be explored in different ways, check out the versions of 'Feel So Sad' on these posts as a good example.

This 7" was sold and sometimes given away at gigs.

The first record from Jason Pierce using the name Spiritualized was a cover of The Troggs 'Anyway that You Want Me'. The A-Side was actually recorded during the sessions for 'Recurring'.
